After the Repair
After the Repair

Will my repaired discs look and play like new?

YES! If the disc is repairable, we will bring the read-side back to high optical quality so the disc will play again like new! The surface finish and optical clarity is guaranteed, however we cannot repair poorly recorded discs, or discs that have foil damage or other information layer damage since our process does not affect the actual information. Our process restores the lasers ability to "view" the information that is pre-recorded.

I have a lot of discs that need repair. How do I package & send them?

DO NOT SHIP US YOUR DISCS IN THEIR ORIGINAL CASES...

They break easily and our service does not include matching up the discs back to their cases. We recommend packaging your discs into safe Transporters. . Click Here  for Transporters. We also recommend packaging a maximum of 50 discs into transporters. The 100 Disc sizes tend to break too often. You also want to break up your shipments into several packages, as this is safer and faster. However if you have a large enough lot of discs to send that could be palletized, then boxing them and stacking up a pallet and using a trucking company is the best method.

How long does it take to repair my discs and get them back?

Our goal is to process most orders and have them on the way back to you within 48-72 hours once we have received them; however actual times will vary based on the size of the order or when we get a large surge of orders creating a temporary backlog. Once we receive and repair your discs, you will receive an e-mail allowing you to track the progress of the discs as they are on the way back to you. We recommend using a tracking service when sending your discs to allow you to first check to see if we have received your discs.

Then if you would like to check the status of your order, you can log back in to your account or use the tracking number you received by e-mail. You can also e-mail us at sales@wefixcds.com, or call us at 1-800-WE-FIX-CDS. We are also excited to say that we are currently growing our capacity at a rapid pace, and in response to a recent massive increase in volume and demand for our services, we are adding more equipment, and hiring additional personnel to extend our hours of operation. It is our mission to provide and maintain the fastest possible turnaround times; therefore we are making significant investments to continue to provide a speedy service even as we are growing so quickly. We appreciate your business and thank you for making this service so successful.

Are my Discs secure at your site?

Completely! Your discs are protected in our repair area at all times. Our repair facility is access-controlled, caged, and protected by alarm. We also do not read or copy the information on your discs.

Do you warranty your repairs?

Absolutely! We provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee on our repair finishes. The playing side of the disc will look and play like "brand-new", or we will resurface it for free or your money back! The patented disc repair process we use repairs the bottom (read) side of the disc by removing scratches with micro-abrasives. We cannot repair disc damage caused by cracks, damage to the topside foil layer, data damage, or damage incurred during the disc manufacturing process.

Our Repair Process

We are a subsidiary of the Azuradisc Corporation; we exclusively use highly precise automated disc repair machines manufactured by Azuradisc. Our machines are the top of the line in the industry; they use a liquid cooled patented disc repair process that keeps each disc cool during the repair. Each disc is also washed, rinsed and dried by the machine eliminating the risk of scratching by human hands. This equipment allows us to repair ALL types of discs ranging from DVDs to Blu-Ray to Game Cube and even Double Sided DVD discs. The machines feature the newest in floating head technology, which keeps each disc surface optically flat, leaving superior finishes to original disc production. Yes, you read that right; this equipment can take a new disc and actually improve its optical clarity above OEM standards. Many molds in the manufacturing of discs are not perfectly flat, and can leave microscopic "orange peel" affects during the molding process. The Advantage disc repair machines polishes each disc surface to a higher tolerance of flatness and optical clarity. This eliminates surface oxidation and any minor manufacturer's defects on the surface of the disc. We currently use Advantage disc repair machines, but also have specialized equipment made by Azuradisc that is not currently for sale to the public. Since Azuradisc supplies our equipment, our disc repair machines are always kept up to date with the newest cutting edge technology.

Cleaning vs. Repairing

Cleaning your disc is the first important step and the lowest cost "repair" you can perform. However you must be sure to clean a disc properly, as if you clean it wrong you can actually do more damage than good. For instance, never use window cleaners or household cleaners like Windex as these products can damage the surface of the disc. For a complete line of disc care products such as spray cleaners and wiping cloths, visit our store.

What happens if I send a defective disc or a disc that is damaged beyond repair?

Some discs with cracks, foil damages, label damages, separating layers, etc. may be beyond repair. If such damage is noticed, Azuradisc will return the disc "as-is" and will not charge a repair fee. If the damage was undetected and a repair was attempted, the normal repair fee(s) are charged. Azuradisc is not responsible for damages to discs during the transport or the repair process.

My Disc was resurfaced but still has scratches why?

After resurfacing a disc, the playing side will be optically clear as if it were new. It is possible that removing the play side scratches we uncover foil damage on regular CDs such as a music discs, these are called foil damage and are non-repairable, depending on the severity many discs can still play fine with minor foil damage. If you are looking at a DVD, foil damage will not be a problem, but you may see an oily looking spot which is a manufacturer’s defect or layer delaminating. Please reference our about discs section, where you can see types of non-repairable damage.

Do you test every disc after repair?

Yes, we perform a visual inspection on every disc. However we stopped using software "reading style" testers a couple years ago after our statistics showed us a properly resurfaced disc that is not cracked and has no foil damage (just scratched) will return the discs playability 99% of the time. Our technology resurfaces the read side of the disc, making it optically clear. No disc repair technology available actually repairs the data, therefore if a disc was poorly recorded or has manufactures defects these discs cannot be repaired. Our process affects the optical clarity of the read side of the disc; each one is inspected by a human at the end of the process as it is being loaded into your carrier. If scratches remain that are repairable, we re-run the process at our cost, if the damage is not repairable no further attempts are made.

Does a perfectly resurfaced disc guarantee it will play?

No, there are several other factors that can prevent a disc from playing, such as a poor recording, data layer separation, if the disc gets overheated warping of the data layer can occur (this is why we use a wet polishing process, which never allows heat to build). There are many other manufacturers' defects, and even software incompatibilities that can prevent a disc from playing in a player. Always check your discs in more than one player, as you may have a player problem.

What are your Limitations of Liability?

Under no circumstances is Azuradisc liable for the following: (1) third-party claims against you for damages; (2) loss of, or damage to, your records or data; or (3) economic consequential damages (including lost profits or savings) or incidental damages even if we are informed of their possibility.
