Packing & Shipping

How much does shipping cost?

You can now calculate the return shipping costs during checkout. Once you have entered the address you want us to send your discs back to, you will be given options such as Ground, 2nd Day Air, or Overnight services. Our web-site currently can only calculate the shipping costs to send your discs back to you, you still need to pack and pay to ship them to us separately. We are working on a system to allow you to pay for and print a shipping label to send your discs to us. Stay tuned, we are working hard to make this happen.

Why don't you recommend or offer U.S. Postal services such as media mail?

Although we found the post office offers many fast & economical services for delivering small packages throughout the United States, many customers complained that they lack a proper tracking system. Also insurance on postal packages are only sold at a walk in U.S.Post Office location. We had a large number of customers calling to ask where their discs are? With the post office, all we could offer is the date we handed it over to the post office. This can be very frustrating as you wait for your package, severe delays due to weather gets you mad at us.... (Even though we did our job) if it never shows up what then? Who is responsible? Insurance is not available automatically or online, so that leaves us in a poor position as a company (who did our job repairing your discs), but handed it over to a company who is not held responsible if they lost your discs. So if you sent expensive or priceless discs, we could offer no help in locating them, and we had no recourse to allow you to file a claim with the Postal Service...

Why do you use Fed-EX, aren't they expensive?

We have partnered with Fed-EX because they have actually offered the lowest rates and best service, we tested other carriers, and to date Fed-Ex has won our business. Also Fed-Ex is working closely with our programmers to add more of the features our customers are asking for, such as increasing the insurance per order, printing a ship to label during our check out process and most importantly working with us on designing custom services to reduce the costs related to shipping discs to us and back to you. What is Fed-EX Smart Post? This is a brand new service- Imagine if you could get all the great features of Fed-EX, but at U.S. Post office prices? Well this is now a Reality. Fed-EX has partnered with our U.S. Postal system and wefixcds.com is preparing to enter the testing phase of this new service. Once you enter your location during the checkout portion of our site, our computer system may offer to you the option to ship FED-EX SMART POST, if the service is not yet available for your location this option will not appear.

How is Fed-EX Smart Post different than Fed EX Ground? Fed-Ex processes, tracks and uses their ground network to carry your package across the U.S., however they do not conduct the final delivery portion. They pass off the package deep within the U.S. postal Service, and a U.S. Mail representative delivers the package to your residence or business. The best part is that Fed-EX Tracking Service is being used! This means you now you get a lower cost of service, all the benefits of Fed-Ex's massive ground network, and the final delivery is made by your local mailman.

Does this service take longer?

Fed-Ex Ground typically takes 3-5 days for delivery; Smart Post averages 5-8 days.

Can I add insurance?

There are 2 points to add insurance. When you pack your discs and send them into us, be sure to use a service that offers insurance. The Post Office does have special insurance options if you go inside and ask a clerk. UPS and Fed-Ex offer an automatic $100 value insurance when you use their service to send us your discs. If you want to add more insurance you can ask your agent to increase this amount. When we ship your discs back to you using the service you chose online such as Fed Ex Ground, Fed Ex Home Delivery, Fed Ex Second Day Air, or Fed Ex Overnight service, they include $100 Value. Currently this is not expandable but our Fed Ex Rep tells us that they will change this within the next year and you will soon be able to purchase additional services. If you have a lot of Valuable discs to send us such as Video Game Discs or Rare discs, and you need more insurance coverage, we recommend you break up your orders as each shipment includes $100 value insurance. So if you broke your order into 10 orders, you could in essence get at combined coverage of $1000. But this requires you separate your orders when ordering online.

Can I use any shipping method such as Post office, UPS or Fed Ex to send my discs to you?

Yes, Send us your discs any which way you feel fits your needs best. Send us your discs via Courier if you want, send a semi load... Before choosing a carrier, be sure to ask yourself if you need tracking or insurance, the Post office does offer special tracking services but they are not the same as the tracking system that UPS and Fed Ex use, that allow you to go online and see where your package is. We recommend UPS or Fed Ex as they both have great tracking systems.

What if a disc gets lost?

We are not responsible for lost discs during transit from or to the customer. Azuradisc does not insure discs by default, however if you choose Fed Ex for return shipping, they provide up to $100 shipping insurance by default. The shipping carrier must be notified of any loss claims within 48 hours of receiving your discs, so check your shipments upon receipt and immediately notify us of any problems. If a disc is lost between the moment Azuradisc opens the arriving disc container and the moment Azuradisc closes the container to ship it back to the customer, Azuradisc's maximum liability is $5.00 per disc or the value of the disc, whichever is lower. If your discs are damaged or lost during shipment back to you after they are repaired, we will provide you with your tracking number and you will be able to file a claim with Fed Ex (up to $100 value). I bought additional insurance, and my discs were lost or damaged on the way to you, how do I make a claim? File a claim with the shipper you used or insurance provider. If you purchased it through UPS, contact UPS claims dept. If you purchased it locally at a Post Office, return to that same Post Office to file a claim.
